He received scholarships from the Ho Hong Chao Medical Foundation and the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CVRF) to exchange academic experience at Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark, ASAN Medical Center in Korea and the Heart Center of Semmelweis University in Hungary. In 2013, he was honored to follow Professor Eric Eeckhout in further training in coronary artery and structural intervention satin in CHUV, Switzerland.
After overseas training, Dr. Lam is committed to expanding regional cardiac services at NTWC. He was elected Chairman of the Tuen Mun Hospital Doctors Association (2017-2018) and was elected as the Member of the Hong Kong Medical Association, Co-chair of CME activities. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Cardiologists of Public Hospitals in Hong Kong.
Dr. Lam received the Youth Achievement Award from the Hospital Authority and NTWC in 2018 for his outstanding contribution to clinical service. In teaching, he received the Model Teacher Award from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Chinese University of Hong Kong. In terms of heart intervention, he has been invited to serve as a faculty member, speaker, and panelist at various conferences. His team has won many best case awards locally and internationally, including but not limited to CICF, CCT, TCTAP, and ECC. In addition, he received the TCTAP 2018 TCTAP Young Scientist of the Year Award.
