Professor Bonnemeier is co chair and leading attending physician of the department of Cardiology, Angiology and Intensive Medicine and head of the department of Electrophysiology and Rhythmology of the University Clinic Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel, Germany.
He graduated from the Medical University Lübeck in 1997 after studying Medicine at the Medical University Lübeck and Harvard Medical School in Boston. He received postgraduate training in internal medicine in 2004, cardiology in 2005, intensive care medicine in 2008, and emergency medicine in 2008 in the Medical Department , University Lübeck. He worked there as a senior interventional cardiologist and interventional electrophysiologist until joining Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel in 2009.
Professor Bonnemeier received several national and international prizes for his scientific work in the field of clinical electrophysiology. He authored and co-authored more than 100 publications as first- and senior-author in peer-reviewed journals.
Professor Bonnemeier is an active member of several research consortia. He is involved in several interdisciplinary research projects and is patent owner in the field of clinical electrophysiology. He is Editorial Board Member and serves as a reviewer for several journals in the field of cardiology and electrophysiology.
