Dr Yat-Yin Lam graduated from HKU with John Anderson Gold Medal in 1999. He received basic cardiology training at Prince of Wales Hospital and underwent advanced training in Royal Brompton Hospital, London. He was conferred the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 2011.
Dr Lam developed LAmbreTM LAA occlude with Lifetech Scientific Corporation. Recently, it has won CE Mark approval which is the first CE marked LAA closure system from China.
He is the Director of Hong Kong Asia Heart Centre in Canossa Hospital (Caritas) Hong Kong, Honorary Associate Consultant of Prince of Wales Hospital Hong Kong, and the Consultant of Kiang Wu Hospital Macau.
Dr Lam is a leading physician for structural heart interventions in Asia. He is one of the founders of “China Structural Heart Disease Week” in 2017. He has been the Program Director of various international left atrial appendage (LAA) closure workshops (LAA Hong Kong/Shanghai (2012), LAA Seoul (2013), CSI LAA Asia-Pacific 2013 - 2017). He was invited to give more than 100 keynote lectures in various international meetings including TCT, EuroPCR, CIT, PICS-AICS and CSI Frankfurt and to perform live case demonstrations.
Besides, he was the Associate Editor of “International Journal of Cardiology – Cardiac Interventions” and had published over 250 peer-reviewed publications (130 full manuscripts and 124 abstracts) in top-tired international journals.
