Dr. Bon-kwon Koo is a professor in the Cardiology Division of Seoul National University College of Medicine.
Dr. Koo is an interventional cardiologist and his main research interest is imaging and physiologic evaluation of coronary artery disease.
Dr. Koo is the principal investigator of many domestic and international studies. He has published more than 300 papers in major journals such as Lancet, JACC, Circulation and European Heart Journal. He has been invited as faculty speaker for major cardiology meetings such as ACC, TCT, European bifurcation club, and Euro PCR.
He is working as course advisory committee and scientific committee member of ENCORE Seoul and co-director of TCTAP.
Dr Koo is an associate editor of JACC cardiovascular intervention.
He has performed series of studies on bifurcation lesions and coronary physiology/imaging which provided important insights in this field. His researches on non-invasive hemodynamic assessment using coronary CT angiography and computational fluid dynamics enabled the assessment of FFR without invasive procedures and has started a new chapter in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease.
